Immediate past member of the House of Representatives, Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Udu Federal Constituency, Hon. Chief Solomon Ahwinahwi has congratulated the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifenyi Okowa on his emergence as Chairman of South South Governors’ Forum.
Ahwinahwi in a signed statement, said on behalf of his numerous supporters and lovers of democracy across Delta state and beyond, commended the governors for electing Okowa as chairman of the Forum.
He said: “this recognition is coming at a time South South and indeed Nigeria need a patriotic, strong, committed and focused leader. I am particularly happy because Okowa has all the qualities needed to run an all-inclusive South South Governors Forum that would be for all, not considering political, ethnicity, religious and social status.
“Okowa’s loyalty to the Niger Delta project, people and his deep interest in the Nigerian project and commitment to genuine democratic values, as well as his values and strong positive character and ability to carry along all members of his team are not in doubt. All he will need is the support of his colleagues and we the people.”
He urged the South-South governors to bury their personal differences and speak in one strong voice and support Okowa, now that he would be speaking on behalf of the region.
